However, traditional manual rain gauges require someone to physically travel to the gauge, read the measurement, record it in a notebook, and empty the bucket. This process is time-consuming, prone to human error, and completely impractical for large or remote properties. The Farmbot Rain Gauge modernizes this process by digitizing rainfall measurement. Utilizing a self-emptying tipping bucket design, it connects directly to a Farmbot Monitor to automatically track and collect daily, weekly, and monthly rainfall data without any manual intervention.
