N-WATCH

As you will no doubt be aware,  nitrate leaching is harmful to the environment because it can contaminate groundwater and surface water sources. High levels of nitrates in water bodies can lead to eutrophication, which causes excessive algae growth, depletes oxygen levels, and harms aquatic life.

We have built the system to monitor leaching in the soil zone below the roots of whatever crop may be growing at the site of the N-WATCH monitoring point, however, how you choose to use it is entirely up to you.

The system is comprised of a

• Data Logger which sends data collected continuously to a data warehouse
• A Nutrisens sensor attached to the Data Logger buried in the soil at an appropriate depth that measures the concentration of Nitrate and Potassium 24/7
• A mobile application to be used by the installer of the above. The agCommander Mobile App is used for this purpose. There is a special N-WATCH Installer module which includes:  a barcode reader  to read the serial number, several charts to inform the installer that the sensors are operating correctly  and charts to monitor the “health” of the data logger.
• A web application that displays the data from the data warehouse that was generated by the Nutrisens sensor.
