Dragonette Hyperspectral Imaging
Empower your business with the most insight-rich geospatial imagery data currently available.
Facing climate, economic, and geopolitical challenges jeopardizing your business and national security? Current solutions fall short due to invisible issues. Wyvern offers hyperspectral data to identify and act swiftly on hidden problems. Shape your strategy with chemical insights. Choose Wyvern for impactful decisions.
Our Constellation
Wyvern’s Dragonette constellation (-001, -002, -003, -004) collects 5.3-metre hyperspectral imaging data from low earth orbit. The visible to near-infrared (VNIR) spectral bands in Wyvern’s hyperspectral imagery are delivered in analysis-ready format for ease of use in a variety of geospatial environments and systems.
The Dragonette constellation will be comprised of four high-resolution hyperspectral satellites. Dragonette-001 and Dragonette-002 have already successfully launched in the first half of 2023 and the fourth to be launched in 2024. The full four satellite constellation is planned to be fully operational in 2024.
- Industry Leading Resolution
Wyvern’s Dragonette constellation (-001, -002, -003, -004) collects the highest spatial resolution commercially available hyperspectral imaging data from low earth orbit. - Just High-Quality Data
Wyvern is focused solely on being a provider of reliable and affordable high-quality data. We will not build and sell analytical solutions. - Canadian Heritage
Wyvern is proud to be a Canadian Space company, drawing on a national heritage of Engineering, grit and resilience – not to mention a reputation for being quite nice to work with!
Hyperspectral Indices For Agriculture
- RENDVI
The Red Edge Normalized Difference Vegetation Index detects slight changes in the sensitivity of vegetation to examine changes in foliage and senescene—useful in vegetation stress detection. - VREI2
Vogelmann Red Edge Index is sensitive to the combined effects of foliage chlorophyll concentration, leaf area, and water content—clearly highlights soils and water. - MCARI2
Modified Chlorophyll Absorption In Reflectance Index 2 minimizes the need for extensive soil sampling by utilizing advanced techniques, resulting in reduced sampling hours in the field while simultaneously improving accuracy. - REPI
The red edge position can be used derive a wide variety of plant health indicators, such as chlorophyll content and plant water content. These properties are applicable for modelling crop properties and stress monitoring.
5 Ways Our Data Can Improve Your ROI
- Yield Prediction
- Improve yield estimates with a much smaller margin of error than multispectral data
- Identify changes during a “training” growing season to predict future changes
- Plant Stress Detection
- Understand and identify the presence of plant stress using distinct spectral signatures
- Develop accurate models to predict plant stress
- Identify changes in plant growth due to stressors
- Nutrient Monitoring
- Communication is important to the success of Wyvern; we are honest and true to ourselves both as a company and individually.
- Better Data Enables Better Tools
- Precision agriculture today most commonly depends on a broadband index based on multispectral imaging data: the normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI).
- In contrast, access to high resolution hyperspectral data can power over a dozen targeted narrowband indices that define crop and soil health in ways not possible with NDVI, driving targeted tools for specific crop and soil types through enhanced spectral analysis.
- Carbon Monitoring
- New imaging capabilities are reimagining carbon management and tracking in agriculture through improved spectral analysis.
- Hyperspectral imaging data, like 5m shortwave-infrared, can detect carbon spectral signatures to offer a convenient and scalable way to drive the verification of carbon management practices.
- By helping farmers use less inputs, like fertilizers and pesticides, hyperspectral data sources can help deliver both economic and environmental benefits to the agriculture industry.
