C-Mapper

Map and measure carbon with more accuracy—and fewer in-situ soil samples

(0)

Over the last 100 years global agriculture practices have moved approximately 133 billion tons of carbon from the soil to the atmosphere. Managed sequestration of this carbon into soil could reverse much of human carbon emissions over the next two decades. In order for best practices to evolve and markets and incentive programs to be trusted, we must map and measure soil carbon accurately on a regular basis.

Through the Soil Cloud, EarthOptics has developed our C-MAPPER web-based software, which uses machine learning to enable training of a model on a minimum number of in-situ soil samples. The resultant empirical model then maps the carbon concentration over the full field site data collected with the GroundOwl sensor platform.

  • On-field sensors provide accurate measurements of carbon content and soil density
  • A small number of samples are needed only to verify measurements
  • Resulting in significant cost savings

Better carbon and bulk density maps from fewer samples

At EarthOptics, we take traditional soil samples and combine the results with GroundOwl sensor data to deliver high resolution maps which provide accurate total field carbon estimates from a minimal set of samples.

Accurate measurements, not modeled estimates

Leveraging ML to advance measurement and analysis of soil properties, EarthOptics is the one-stop-shop for soil carbon measurement. Using on-field sensors and patented ML, we are accurately measuring the exact carbon content and density of the soil.

We verify our measurements through baseline core soil samples. We provide real measurements.
